Grievous Comic Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring Grievous throughout the Star Wars comics. It may not encompass every one of his appearances but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the Star Wars Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

Note: movies are labeled in bold.

Prequel Era

Grievous appears in a few comics during this era, specifically during the Clone Wars. His appearance in an Age of Republic special emphasizes his hatred of the Jedi. Meanwhile, his appearances across the Darth Maul- Son of Dathomir miniseries continue story elements from the Clone Wars animated series.

Grevious also has a few small appearances in the Kanan series. In these issues, he appears in flashbacks set during the Clone Wars. However, the framing story surrounding these series is set during a time long after the events of Episode III- Revenge of the Sith and, thus, they have been placed closer to that point in the timeline.
