“Star Wars, Timelines, and More”- ComicBookWire 5/29/18 Update

Hi there everyone and welcome back to another ComicBookWire update. My name is Tyler and I run, write for, and operate ComicBookWire. Today I’m here to update you on all the new stuff we’ve done with the site recently and all the stuff that is coming in the near future.

Reading Orders

For a while now, ComicBookWire’s ever-expanding collection of comic book timelines has been exclusive to DC Comics. This can be confirmed by looking at the most recent additions to our collection, which include reading orders for Catwoman and the Birds of Prey. Now, I’m proud to announce that we’re entering a galaxy far far away by uploading a few Star Wars reading orders as well. We now have a comic book reading order for Darth Vader, that will explain what happened to him after the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, and one for the Vader Down comic book event.

Though our Star Wars timelines are pretty limited at the moment, we have big plans to expand them in the future. My hope is to include a comic book timeline for every major Star Wars movie character, with each one explaining exactly which comic books to read in order to discover their full story. I would also like to, one day, expand these timelines to include other Star Wars properties, like novels and TV shows, though implementing this will be a more long-term goal. Leave us a comment on our Facebook post if there is a specific Star Wars character you’d like to see a timeline for.

News

Recently, we’ve reported on a number of interesting new stories relating to comic books. These include the announcement of a new DC Comics TV show, a Catwoman costume redesign, and a look at the new Action Comics #1000 deluxe edition.

In addition, we recently compiled a list of every Marvel and DC omnibus collection set to be released this year. These two lists are proving to be some of our most popular articles ever and can be viewed here and here.

Reviews

As always, we’ve uploaded a number of comic book reviews to the site, far too many to list out here. Some of my personal favorites included Darth Vader Vol. 3- The Shu-Torun War, Batman/Superman Vol. 6- Universe’s Finest, and All-Star Batman Vol. 3- The First Ally. That’s it for this week! If you want to stay updated on everything ComicBookWire is up to in the future, make sure to follow ComicBookWire on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest. Either way, thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!
