“Batman by John Ridley” is Already Set to Receive a Deluxe Edition

Early in 2021, DC’s highly anticipated Future State event begins, with one of the most anticipated titles being Future State: The Next Batman. The comic will be depicting writer John Ridley and artist Nick Derington’s take on a future version of Gotham City, where laws against vigilantes have “given rise to a new Dark Knight.” Now, a new solicitation has revealed that this upcoming series is set to be collected in a deluxe-sized hardcover, along with a few other comics to boot.

Batman by John Ridley The Deluxe Edition is set to collect Detective Comics #1027, Batman Black & White #1, Batman: The Joker War Zone #1, and Future State: The Next Batman #1-4. Though it is not explicitly stated in the current solicitation, I would imagine only the John Ridley stories or Future State-related stories from these issues will be collected in the upcoming deluxe edition. The collection is currently set for release on June 29, 2021. However, keep in mind that this is still a very early solicitations, so these details are subject to change.
