“Dark Nights: Metal Omnibus” is Finally on the Way

Dark Nights: Metal (Reading Order) was a pretty dramatic event. It witnessed the rise of evil versions of Batman and the introduction of the Dark Multiverse. It also served as the climax to Scott Snyder’s run on Batman (Reading Order) and the beginning of his run on the Justice League (Reading Order). Now, the entire event is coming to fans in an Omnibus format.

The Dark Nights: Metal Omnibus is currently set for release on January 10, 2023. It is set to collect the “entire Dark Nights Metal epic in one heart-pounding collection.” While this solicitation doesn’t give the exact contents, for it to collect the “entire” epic it would have to gather together four “Gotham Resistance” crossovers, four “Justice League” crossovers, seven “Dark Batman” backstory issues, and three one-shots. It would also likely include the two “Road to Metal” prelude issues. Altogether, this would be 26 comic issues, which are currently only available across four separate volumes. Bringing them all together in this Omnibus Edition could be a great way to collect the event. It would also serve as a fantastic complement to the Batman by Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo Omnibus Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 that are already out.

However, as the official contents aren’t currently listed, it isn’t certain exactly what it will collect. We’ll make sure to keep an eye on the details as they are revealed.

I just want to know why the Omnibus is cheaper than the Absolute Dark Nights: Metal book. I’m completely confused lol.
