“Phantom Stranger”, Rebirth-era “Detective Comics”, and “Super Sons Expanded” Omnibus Editions on the Way
It’s only been a week since ComicBookWire put out a mini-update of upcoming DC Omnibus editions. However, in that one week, several exciting new DC Omnibus Editions have appeared. Some of the more exciting ones include Batman: Detective Comics Omnibus, which collects material from the “Rebirth” era Detective Comics run; the Super Sons Omnibus Expanded Editions, which provides a more complete collection of the Super Sons’ adventures; and the Phantom Stranger Omnibus, which collects material some fans believed would never be collected in an omnibus. All of this material looks great and much of it is also pretty unexpected.
The following list will present all of the new Omnibus Editions that have been solicited since ComicBookWire’s last update on upcoming DC Omnibus Editions. These Omnibus Editions will also be included in our next list of “Upcoming DC Omnibus Editions” but we wanted to provide interested fans with an earlier peek at what is coming up.
Keep in mind that DC often edits the contents of their solicitations before release. There have also been numerous instances where a solicited collection has had a radically altered release date or has been cancelled completely. This means that this list is likely to be what is released in the future, but nothing is guaranteed.
- Batman: Detective Comics Omnibus
- Contents unclear. However, the listing states it will collect issues written by James Tynion IV, so it will likely collect issues around Detective Comics #934-981.

- Super Sons Omnibus Expanded Edition
- Collects Superman #10-11, Superman #37-38, Teen Titans #15, Super Sons #1-16, DC Rebirth Holiday Special #1, Super Sons Annual #1, Super Sons/Dynomutt Special #3, and Adventures of the Super Sons #1-12.
- This reprints material in another omnibus. However, the non-expanded edition of this omnibus did not include Super Sons/Dynomutt Special #3 or Adventures of the Super Sons #1-12.
- Release Date: December 22, 2020
- Phantom Stranger Omnibus
- Collects The Phantom Stranger #1-6 (1952) and The Phantom Stranger #1-41 (1969). Also collects stories from The Saga of the Swamp Thing #1-13; Who’s Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe #18; The Brave and the Bold #89, #98, #145; Showcase #80; Justice League of America #103; House of Secrets #150; DC Super-Stars #18; and DC Comics Presents #25 and #72.

- 100 Bullets Omnibus Vol. 1
- Collects Vertigo: Winter’s Edge #3, 100 Bullets #1-58.

- Batman in Brave & the Bold: The Bronze Age Omnibus Vol. 3
- Collects The Brave And The Bold #157-200.
