Quick Summary of DC’s Newest Imprints
Nowadays it is starting to feel like DC Comics announces a brand new comic imprint just about every day. To make sense of it all, we wanted to provide a brief recap of the few that have been announced the most recently. DC Ink
In an attempt to reach a new generation of readers, DC Comics is creating the DC Ink imprint. Ink will be focused on young adult readers and will feature stories and creators specifically catered to this audience. This imprint will feature DC Comics characters without any ties to the current DC continuity. Titles published under this imprint will be released as graphic novels and priced at $16.99 for 192 pages of content.
The first DC Ink titles are set to be released in Fall of 2018, with others coming in 2019.

DC Zoom
Similar to the DC Ink line of titles, DC Zoom is designed for a new generation of readers. Zoom will be focused on middle grade readers and will features stories and creators specifically catered to this audience. This imprint will feature DC Comics characters without any ties to the current DC continuity. Titles published under this imprint will be released as softcover graphic novels and priced at $9.99 for 128 pages of content.
The first DC Zoom titles are set to be released in Fall of 2018, with others coming in 2019.

Sandman Universe
Many comic fans out there are familiar with Neil Gaiman’s critically acclaimed Sandman series and the numerous spin-off series it created. Now, Gaiman is returning to Vertigo to revive the universe under a brand new imprint of comics. This imprint will include four new monthly titles headed by a number of different creative teams, with the entire effort overseen by Gaiman himself. Each series will follow elements from the Sandman Universe
This new imprint will start with The Sandman Universe #1, a one-shot comic designed to introduce readers to the characters and story elements that will continue in each of the series. This one-shot will be plotted by Gaiman and written by the authors of the four series. The Sandman Universe #1 is set for release on August 8, 2018.

Black Label
The most recently announced imprint from DC Comics is DC Black Label. This imprint was created with all-star writers and artists in mind and is designed to allow them to tell the stories they want to tell. In the spirit of hits like The Dark Knight Returns, series will tell the story of DC characters in an environment unconnected to the current DC Comics continuity. Each series will also feature a “unique format and release schedule” chosen by the creative team.
The first title to be launched under this imprint will be Superman: Year One. The first issue in this three-part series is set for release in August 2018.
