DCeased Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring the DCeased universe and its characters throughout DC Comics. This “DCeased Reading Order” will show what order to read DCeased and explain any relevant continuity details.

DCeased Reading Order

The DCeased narrative begins with DCeased. This comic is the first comic set in this universe and is the origin point for all of its storylines. It helps to be familiar with the DC Universe before jumping into DCeased, particularly with characters like Jon Kent (Reading Order) and Damian Wayne (Reading Order) or with the status quo present in the Rebirth era (Reading Order). However, fans can jump in with no prior knowledge and still understand what is going on.

Starting with this universe simply requires reading DCeased. After this, the tie-in comics DCeased: Unkillables and DCeased: Hope at World’s End should be read. Both of these tie-in comics are essentially companions to DCeased, showing what happened during DCeased from a different angle or showing what happened in the aftermath of the series. Next, DCeased: Dead Planet takes place. This is essentially a sequel to the original story and brings the entire narrative to a close.

Notes

1. DCeased: Unkillables mostly takes place after the events of DCeased. It focuses on what several of the world's villains did during the main series and what they did immediately afterward. The events of this comic are also briefly alluded to in Dead Planet, making it the more essential of the two tie-in comics.
2. DCeased: Hope at World's End is a series of stories that take place at the same time as the majority of DCeased. However, they are narrated from a perspective set after the events of DCeased. Because of this and because of the fact that this comic was published later, we suggest reading it after DCeased.
