Overview

Justice League: Darkseid War (Review) is a relatively straightforward storyline that takes place near the end of the New 52 Justice League series. The event primarily takes place in issues of Justice League but also extends through a series of one-shot special issues.

Before Reading

This event immediately follows Justice League Vol. 6: Injustice League (Review), however setup for the event occurs throughout the Justice League series. The most significant setup takes place during Forever Evil (Review), which is mentioned a number of times throughout Darkseid War.

After Reading

The end of Darkseid War serves as the beginning for a number of different storylines. Secrets revealed here go on to have an impact in Wonder Woman Vol. 6: Children of the Gods and will go on to play a major role in an upcoming story about the Joker. Meanwhile, Superman's actions here help set up The Final Days of Superman (Review) (Reading Order) storyline. However, the most significant storyline, following this one, is DC Universe: Rebirth (Review). Darkseid War ends on a cliffhanger which DC Universe: Rebirth (Review) begins to address. This cliffhanger will also be addressed in Batman/The Flash: The Button and Doomsday Clock.
