Overview

Titans: The Lazarus Contract (Review) is a crossover event stretching through the Titans, Teen Titans, and Deathstroke comic series. The event builds on general plotlines from each comic but also pulls in story elements from the main characters' pre-Flashpoint history.

The event takes place across one issue from each series and then concludes in the Teen Titans: The Lazarus Contract Special. After this, the main narrative from the event receives an epilogue in Deathstroke #20. In this way, this is a relatively straightforward crossover.

Before Reading

The Lazarus Contract (Review) builds upon recent events from each series involved in the crossover. Specifically, it takes place immediately after Titans #10, collected in Titans Vol. 2: Made in Manhattan (Review); Teen Titans #7, collected in Teen Titans Vol. 2: The Rise of Aqualad; and Deathstroke #18, collected in Deathstroke Vol. 3: Twilight (Review). Though the event builds on each of these comics, it most directly relates to recent events in Deathstroke's life.

In addition, The Lazarus Contract (Review) revisits the pre-Flashpoint death of Grant Wilson. Though the exact details behind Grant's history are altered, the basis behind it is the same. The story behind this death is detailed across New Teen Titans Vol. 1 #1-2, collected in New Teen Titans Vol. 1.

After Reading

The Lazarus Contract (Review) has a dramatic impact on each series involved in the crossover. The impact is seen in subsequent issues from each comic, starting with Titans #12, collected in Titans Vol. 3: A Judas Among Us (Review); Teen Titans #9, collected in Teen Titans Vol. 2: The Rise of Aqualad; and Deathstroke #21, collected in Deathstroke Vol. 4: Defiance.
