Overview

Aquaman/Suicide Squad: Sink Atlantis (Review) is a relatively straightforward crossover event between the Aquaman and the Suicide Squad comic series. It takes place over the course of two issues from each series and does not involve any other comics.

Before Reading

This event immediately follows the conclusion of Aquaman Vol. 6: Kingslayer (Review) and the first four chapters of Suicide Squad Vol. 8: Constriction. However, the story taking place across Sink Atlantis (Review) is more directly relevant to what has been taking place in the Aquaman series. In many ways, this crossover is the culmination of a conflict that began in at the conclusion of Aquaman Vol. 3: Crown of Atlantis (Review) and has stretched through Aquaman Vol. 4: Underworld (Review), Aquaman Vol. 5: The Crown Comes Down (Review), Aquaman Vol. 6: Kingslayer (Review), and Mera: Queen of Atlantis (Review).

Technically, this event also involves a wish made at the conclusion of Dark Nights: Metal (Review) (Reading Order). However, this is far less relevant to the plot in this crossover and is not really a part of the prerequisite reading.

After Reading

The conclusion of Sink Atlantis (Review) has the Aquaman and the Suicide Squad storylines separate immediately after the crossover closes. The Suicide Squad storyline continues on in the second half of Suicide Squad Vol. 8: Constriction. Meanwhile, the Aquaman storyline jumps into another crossover event with Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth.
