The Culling: Rise of the Ravagers Reading Order

Overview

The Culling: Rise of the Ravagers (Review) is a crossover storyline that takes place across the Teen Titans, Superboy, and Legion Lost series. It begins with a prelude in each series, moves on to a Teen Titans annual, and then finishes across one issue from each series. These issues should all be read in the order detailed above in order for the story to make sense.

Before Reading

This crossover mostly has its origins in the beginnings of the Teen Titans and Superboy series. Both Teen Titans Vol. 1: It’s Our Right to Fight (Review) and Superboy Vol. 1: Incubation (Review) lead directly into this event. In addition, the Legion Lost series also helps set up this event, though it does play a much smaller role. Legion Lost Vol. 1: Run From Tomorrow (Review) contains the relevant information from this series.

After Reading

This event is a direct prelude to the entire Ravagers series, which picks up right where this volume ends. The Ravagers series starts with Ravagers Vol. 1: The Kids From N.O.W.H.E.R.E. (Review). In addition, repercussions from this event are felt in each of the series involved. The second halves of Teen Titans Vol. 2: The Culling (Review), Superboy Vol. 2: Extraction (Review), and Legion Lost Vol. 2: The Culling (Review) all deal with consequences from The Culling: Rise of the Ravagers (Review).
