Overview

Green Lantern: Wrath of the First Lantern (Review) is a DC Comics crossover event that has the DC Universe's various Lantern Corps dealing with the return of the incredibly powerful First Lantern. This event is also significant as the conclusion to Geoff Johns' lengthy run on the Green Lantern series.

The structure of Wrath of the First Lantern is pretty simple. It starts in an issue of Green Lantern, continues in an issue of Green Lantern Corps, continues again in an issue of Green Lantern: New Guardians, and completes the cycle with an issue of Red Lanterns. This cycle repeats a few times before finally ending with Green Lantern #20.

Epilogue

These three issues explore the aftermath of the Wrath of the First Lantern event. They are more related to individual characters than they are to the overall event but still help wrap up some personal storylines.

Before Reading

Green Lantern: Wrath of the First Lantern (Review) immediately follows the Green Lantern: Rise of the Third Army (Review) (Reading Order) event. In many ways, these two events are so closely related that they could simply be considered "Part 1" and "Part 2" of the same event.

In addition, Wrath of the First Lantern builds upon storylines extending through the entirety of the New 52 Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Green Lantern: New Guardians, and Red Lanterns comics.

After Reading

The fallout from Green Lantern: Wrath of the First Lantern is felt in each of the comics that comprise it. These storylines are picked back up again in issue #21 from each series, collected in Green Lantern: Dark Days, Green Lantern Corps: Rebuild, Green Lantern: New Guardians: Gods and Monsters, and Red Lanterns: Blood Brothers.
