Lobo (New 52 Version) Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give a timeline of major storylines featuring Lobo (New 52 Version) throughout DC Comics. It does not encompass every one of his appearances, but is a timeline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

See our “Lobo (New 52 Version) Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

New 52

With the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe’s continuity was restarted. Though the old Lobo (Reading Order) already existed in this universe, the New 52 version of Lobo was presented as the “real” version of the character. He made appearances in a number of comics before starring in his own series for a while.

See our “Lobo (New 52 Version) Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

Notes
  1. All of these storylines follow this Lobo's quest to find the other version of Lobo. Each of these stories show him obtaining additional information or furthering his investigation in some way. However, they are not necessary to his reading order as long as readers know that he is looking for the other Lobo.
  2. Lobo has a rather minor role in this issue. However, his role here is directly referenced in his solo series.
  3. In this storyline, Lobo mostly plays a supporting role. However, the end of this storyline could, possibly, explain Lobo's position at the beginning of the Rebirth era of DC Comics.

Rebirth

Though the beginning of the Rebirth era did not mark any specific changes in continuity, the New 52 version of Lobo's character was dramatically altered. Almost all of his established history and legacy is shifted back to the original Lobo (Timeline), who now appears to have reclaimed his position as the DC Universe's "real" Lobo. As of right now, the New 52 version of Lobo has only made one quick appearance in the Rebirth era of comics.

See our “Lobo (New 52 Version) Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.
