Raven Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring Raven throughout DC Comics. It does not encompass every one of her appearances, but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

See our “Raven Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

New 52

With the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe’s continuity was reset. Raven’s appearance was teased in a couple of places before she eventually went on to have a major role in the Teen Titans series.

About halfway through Raven’s New 52 journey, a continuity shift takes place that edits some of her teammates’ histories. This does not effect her character much but is relevant to her story. This point is marked on this Reading Order.

See our “Raven Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

Notes
  1. Raven appears in all of these comic issues. However, her role in each one is small and essentially just teases her involvement in the future. Plus, the events of these issues are summarized when she is officially introduced in Teen Titans: Light and Dark (Review).
  2. The Teen Titans only make a small appearance here. However, their actions during this storyline provide the basis for Teen Titans: The Trial of Kid Flash (Review). These actions are also summarized at the beginning of Teen Titans: The Trial of Kid Flash (Review), making this storyline somewhat nonessential.
  3. Raven is not actually in this issue. However, this issue is pretty critical in giving context for the next issue.
