Spoiler Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give a timeline of major storylines featuring Spoiler (Stephanie Brown) throughout DC Comics. It does not encompass every one of her appearances, but is a timeline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

New 52

With the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe’s continuity was restarted. Spoiler was completely removed from the universe’s history and none of her previous appearances were considered in continuity. She was reintroduced to the comic world in the Batman Eternal series and made random appearances in the world of the Bat-family soon after.

Notes
  1. Spoiler's reintroduction to the world of comics happens through a subplot in the Batman Eternal series. This subplot is just one of many, meaning most of Batman Eternal has nothing to do with Spoiler. However, reading the non-Spoiler issues will give her actions more meaning and helps give her father more character development.
  2. Soon after Batman Eternal Vol. 3 (Review), Spoiler meets Catwoman once again. Their interactions here are brief but help deepen their relationship.
  3. This issue is mostly unnecessary but is relevant because it shows Spoiler and Batgirl's first significant meeting. This meeting is referenced when Spoiler makes later appearances in the Batgirl series.
  4. Spoiler's initial appearances in the Batgirl series are a continuation of plotlines from her time with Catwoman. Later on she becomes a secondary character alongside Batgirl. These show more of Spoiler's adventures but are not important as her overall story progresses.
