Vixen Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring Vixen (Mari McCabe) throughout DC Comics. It does not encompass every one of her appearances, but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

See our “Vixen Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

New 52

With the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe’s continuity was reset. Vixen’s first appearances in this new continuity were through the Justice League International series, which she started as a main character but ended as a minor character. After this series ended, she went on to make a few small appearances in other comics.

See our “Vixen Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

Notes
  1. At this point, Vixen becomes a minor character in the Justice League International series. She still makes a few appearances here and there but her role is cut dramatically.
  2. Vixen's involvement in these storylines helps establish her history with the Justice League (Reading Order). This history is referenced in a few places.
  3. In this series, Vixen is a relatively minor character. However, it somewhat continues to develop friendships that began in the Black Canary (Reading Order) series.

Rebirth

Vixen begins the Rebirth era by joining the newest version of the Justice League of America. She spends most of this era with this team and accompanies them on nearly all of their missions. In addition, most of Vixen's history from the New 52 era seems to be preserved going into the Rebirth era.

See our “Vixen Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.
