Annihilation: Conquest Reading Order

Overview

Annihilation: Conquest is a large comic book event that brings in many elements from the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe. The story here centers around the heroes of the galaxy attempting to stop the spread of a techno-organic virus with the ability to possess anyone it infects.

The main story from this event is told through a single comic series with one prologue issue. However, a number of tie-in miniseries help expand the story significantly and show what is happening throughout the universe during this event. Most of these tie-ins detail information that comes into play during the main event and, thus, are extremely helpful to read in tandem with the main event.

Before Reading

Annihilation: Conquest directly continues the cosmic story that was started in Annihilation. Though this event features different heroes and villains, the basis for this event is completely established in during Annihilation.

This event also continues Richard Rider's story, which was started in the first three issues of Nova Vol. 4, collected in either Nova Vol. 1: Annihilation - Conquest or Nova by Abnett & Lanning: The Complete Collection Vol. 1.

After Reading

Elements from the story in Annihilation: Conquest go on to later influence the War of Kings event. War of Kings is considered to be the next major event in the Marvel Cosmic saga and is somewhat of a pseudo-sequel to Annihilation: Conquest.

More directly, the events of Annihilation: Conquest go on to establish the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 series. This new series, which starts with either Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1: Legacy or Guardians of the Galaxy by Abnett & Lanning: The Complete Collection Vol. 1 (Review), centers around characters that played a large role in Annihilation: Conquest.
