Overview

Infinity (Review) is a large comic book event centered around two battles. The first is a battle against the mysterious Builders for the fate of the entire galaxy. The second is a battle against Thanos for the fate of the Earth. These all build upon and relate to events that have taken place and are taking place in the Avengers and New Avengers comics.

Infinity is mostly told through a main event series and through the Avengers and New Avengers comics. Together, these form the core of this comic and tell the reader everything essential to understanding this event. Alongside this, there are also a number of tie-in comics that explain what is happening alongside the story's core.

Tie-Ins

Infinity's tie-in issues are diverse in the way they relate back to the main event. In order to explain these relations, we have provided explanation below that correspond with the numbers on our reading order above.

  1. These tie-ins all deal with problems that are directly related to the "Main Event". Typically, these issues focus on characters who are already a part of the "Main Event" and the actions here typically have an impact on the "Main Event".
  2. These tie-ins show how some other major characters and teams in the Marvel Universe react to Thanos' actions. Typically, these issues focus on characters who do not play a part in the "Main Event". In addition, these issues, typically, have little to no impact on what happens in the "Main Event".
  3. These tie-in series show what a few of the Marvel Universe's minor characters are doing during the Infinity event. They have no real impact on what happens in the "Main Event".
  4. These tie-ins all focus on the fallout from events in Infinity #3-4. They have no real impact on what happens in the "Main Event".
  5. This issue technically takes place after the Infinity event. However, the majority of the issue is a flashback to events that take place around Avengers #18.

Before Reading

The direct prelude to Infinity (Review) is shown in this reading order. However, the entirety of the Avengers and New Avengers comics can be considered as a prelude to Infinity. Everything that takes place in these comics helps build up and explain everything that takes place during Infinity.

After Reading

The storyline in Infinity (Review) mostly continues throughout the rest of the Avengers and New Avengers comics, with the next major storylines told in Avengers Vol. 5: Adapt or Die (Review) and New Avengers Vol. 3: Other Worlds (Review). However, plotlines from this event come to a head in the Time Runs Out (Review) and the Secret Wars (Review) events.

In addition, Infinity directly starts the Inhumanity event. However, this event mostly focuses on the fallout from Infinity #3-4, rather than the event as a whole.
