Secret Avengers (S.H.I.E.L.D. Version) Reading Order
This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring S.H.I.E.L.D.’s version of the Secret Avengers throughout Marvel Comics. It may not encompass every one of their appearances, but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.
The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the Marvel Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.
Marvel NOW!
Near the beginning of the Marvel NOW! era, a new version of the Secret Avengers were introduced. This version was created and run by S.H.I.E.L.D. Though they share the same name as a previous team, they really have very little in common with that team.
The bulk of the Secret Avenger’s adventures exclusively occur within the Secret Avengers series. This comic details their formation and some of their most important adventures. Besides this, the team only makes a few very brief appearances in other comics.
