“Static: Season One” Hardcover Collection has been Solicited

DC Comics recently announced the official return of Static in the new Static: Season One series. This comic, written by Vita Ayala and illustrated by Nikolas Draper-Ivey, is set to hit stands this July and is set to run for six issues. While this is great news on its own, we’ve already got news regarding the collection that will gather together this miniseries.

Static: Season One is currently set to release on February 15, 2022 (though this may change since release dates often move around when they are announced this far ahead). The hardcover volume is set to collect the full six-issue miniseries. Right now, the solicitation does not list the trim size, however, it seems likely that this will be a standard-size hardcover, as this is how DC has been releasing these collections recently. When it comes to the storyline, this collection is focusing on Static’s origin, adapting it in the modern DC Universe. Altogether, this makes it very similar to the type of collection we saw with Naomi: Season One (Review), which also focused on introducing a hero into the greater DC Universe.
