Saw Watching Order

This watching order is designed to give an outline of the Saw movie series. It explains what order to watch the movies and looks at any connections between them.

Saw Watching Order

The ideal way to experience the Saw franchise is by watching them in release date order. These movies are packed with twists and flashbacks that reveal more about the films before them. While this means you could technically watch them in a different order based on these flashbacks, watching them in the order they were released allows you to properly experience the twists, with all of the context necessary to make them worthwhile.

This order is pretty self-explanatory because it mostly just features films in numerical order. It starts with Saw and proceeds through the numbers until reaching Saw VI. At this point, the planned final film, Saw 3D or Saw: The Final Chapter, takes place. This is followed by Jigsaw and then Spiral. Finally, the tenth film in the franchise, Saw X, was released. Watching the Saw movies in this order allows each one to build on the film or films that came before it, revealing a wonderfully twisting and twisted narrative.

Saw Chronological Watching Order

While watching the Saw films in release order is the ideal way to experience them, watching them in chronological order works too. This is best for those who have already seen the movies and are looking for a way to change up their rewatch.

However, the Saw chronological watching order isn't too different from the release date watching order. It simply moves Saw X earlier in the lineup. This is because Saw X is the franchise's only direct and significant jump backwards, taking place directly after Saw and directly before Saw II. So, making this simple change is all you have to do to watch the movies in this order.
