Weekly Update 1/22/18

Hi there everyone. My name is Tyler, and I run, write for, and operate ComicBookWire. This past week wasn’t too extraordinary for the site, in either a positive or negative way. Five reviews were uploaded, one timeline was created, and the number of people coming in to view all of this remained consistent. Despite the relatively mundane nature of the week, I am happy with how things turned out and am glad to see the site as stable as it is. Plus, the content created last week and the content coming this week allows for some more creative projects down the line, which I am even more excited about.

Last Week

Typically, I try to ensure that ComicBookWire’s weekly reviews come from a few separate publishers and cover a variety of different series. Last week that did not happen, as nearly every review covered some aspect of DC’s Justice League series. A busy week outside of the website left me with less time for strategic planning and played a part in this lack of publisher diversity. In addition, I plan on releasing a Justice League Timeline this week, so revamping ComicBookWire’s Justice League review section was a necessity. Weeks with a singular focus, like this, are atypical for ComicBookWire and will happen less in the future.

Reviews weren’t the only thing done this week though; a timeline was also added to the site. This week the focus was on Harper Row and her evolution through the New 52 era of DC Comics. Harper typically only plays a supporting role in Batman books, but many fans are still confused about exactly which comics she appears in. This confusion can be alleviated by reading our Harper Row timeline right here.

This Week

First off, this week will definitely be more balanced than last week. I’m already working on a few Marvel comic reviews to diversify our typically DC centric offerings. This will include the continuation of our Daredevil Reviews and our Indestructible Hulk Reviews. In addition, this week will also see a review from a company besides Marvel and DC, something I try to offer every week.

DC Reviews will still be present this week as we move toward the creation of more Timelines/Reading Orders. This week, I am planning on publishing a reading order for the New 52 era of the Justice League, which is why last week included so many Justice League books. In addition, if I have enough time, I would also like to publish a timeline for the DC Comics character Cyborg as well. I’ve already got a solid start on this particular timeline, so there is a good chance I’ll be able to get it out this week. However if this does not happen it will simply be delayed until next week.

This week also marks the release of Doomsday Clock #3 to comic book shops everywhere. To keep you up to date on this series, ComicBookWire will be releasing a review and continuity breakdown of this comic on the day it is released. So if you are thinking of picking up this issue, make sure to check in here first to see how it turned out. Or, if you already decided to buy this comic, check back here once you finish reading it for a breakdown of every reference the comic makes.

That’s it for this week! If you want to stay updated on everything ComicBookWire is up to in the future, make sure to follow ComicBookWire on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. Either way, thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!
