Weekly Update 12/18/17

Hi there everyone. My name is Tyler and I run, write for, and operate ComicBookWire. What started as a small pet project of mine has quickly developed into a bonafide website in its own right. With nearly thousands of viewers coming to the site each week, ComicBookWire is bigger than ever before and only continues to grow.

To address this, I will be writing a new “Weekly Update” series designed to summarize any major progress across the site for the last few days. The plan, right now, is to release one of these every Monday and inform everyone via our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. The site has evolved a great deal over the last few months, and I’m more excited than ever for what will be coming up next.

Last Week

Last week’s reviews incorporate a little bit of everything but tended to lean toward DC Comics, as this site often does. These DC reviews revolved around the DC Comics event Forever Evil, which we have been reading in preparation for future timelines and the continuation of our Justice League reviews. I love Forever Evil as an event so being able to dig into the tie-in issues and separate storylines was a real treat. Besides this, the Daredevil series by Mark Waid continues to be stunning and the Archie series continues to dole out laughs.

In addition to reviews, we also added a Midnighter Timeline to our character timelines section of the site. This is part of ComicBookWire’s ongoing effort to create a timeline/reading order for every character possible. We only have a few characters up at the moment, but this number is constantly growing. The Midnighter Timeline can be found here and our other DC Comics timelines can be found here.

This Week

A number of our reviews this week will revolve around books with the DC Comics character Martian Manhunter. This will include books from series like Justice League United and Martian Manhunter, where he plays a lead role. All of this is in preparation for our Martian Manhunter timeline, which will be coming to the site next week.

Speaking of timelines, this week we’re also aiming at the release of a timeline for the Justice League vs. Suicide Squad event, which we reviewed here earlier. Though the event itself is rather self explanatory, we’re going to be providing a reading order for those who still may be confused by it.

This week will also see the release of Dark Nights: Metal #4. Our coverage of this event has been thorough so far and will continue to be so with this new release. Our review will provide a continuity breakdown of the issue and will explain any references to the greater DC Universe that this comic makes. You can see our past reviews and breakdowns of the Metal series right here.

I’m very happy with the current state of ComicBookWire and am excited to be pushing it forward into the future. If you want to stay updated on everything this future holds make sure to follow ComicBookWire on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest where you can be sure to stay up to date on everything that happens. Either way, thanks for reading and have a wonderful week!
