DeSaad Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring DeSaad throughout DC Comics. It does not encompass every one of his appearances, but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

New 52

At the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe was reset. Near the start of this new continuity, Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips launched a major assault on Earth. However, this assault was repelled by the Justice League (Reading Order) and forced Darkseid’s armies to go after Earth 2 (Reading Order) instead.

DeSaad played a part in both of these invasions. However, his most significant role was as an antagonist for Huntress and Power Girl, two heroes of Earth 2. He provided a foil for their actions in both the Worlds’ Finest and Earth 2: World’s End series.

Notes

Even though he does not directly appear in these issues, they are connected to DeSaad's character in a way that becomes obvious later on in the Worlds' Finest series.

DeSaad does not have a large role in this issue at all. However, it is helpful in that it confirms he somehow made it back to his former position as Darkseid's minion.

Rebirth

In progress.
