Each tie-in series title begins with the word "Convergence" (e.g. Superman = Convergence: Superman). The titles are simply shortened for brevity.

Overview

Convergence (Review) is a large comic book event that brings in many elements from the past and present of the DC Universe. The main story from this event is told through a single comic series. However, a number of tie-in issues also help show what is going on in the various worlds that Convergence brings together. These tie-ins do not have any affect on the main event.

Before Reading

This event directly continues the Brainiac story from the conclusion of the Futures End (Review) (Reading Order) event and the Booster Gold story from the Futures End event (explained in the notes section below). It also directly continues the story of the citizens of Earth 2 from the conclusion of the Earth 2: World's End (Review) events.

Superman's role in the first chapter of this event directly continues his story from the conclusion of Superman: Doomed (Review) (Reading Order). However, besides bringing Superman into the book's first chapter, Superman: Doomed has almost no effect on Convergence.

After Reading

The conclusion of Convergence (Review) alters the structure of the DC Universe. It preserves each iteration of reality as its own distinct multiverse. For example, the pre-Flashpoint DC Universe has no longer been destroyed, it has simply been relegated to its own multiverse. In theory, this allows DC Comics to return to points in their history and create new stories from their old characters. In practice, this new structure for the DC Universe is almost never mentioned again and becomes inconsequential soon after Convergence.

Elements from the story in Convergence go on to establish the Telos (Review) miniseries, which stars the main character from Convergence, and the Superman: Lois and Clark (Review) miniseries, which stars characters reintroduced through Convergence. In addition, the conclusion of this event continues the story of Earth 2 by providing the basis upon which Earth 2: Society (Review) is set.

Notes

Direct Connection Tie-In
  1. Each of these issues stars a character who will go on to have a larger role at the conclusion of Convergence (Review). The stories here typically allude to this role in some way and reading them will make their actions at the end of the event have more impact.
  2. The Convergence: Booster Gold issues directly continue the story of Booster Gold from Booster Gold: Futures End #1. His adventures here should be read after Convergence #3 to avoid some minor spoilers from the event's third issue.
Little/No Connection Tie-In

These tie-in issues detail battles that take place due to what happens in Convergence (Review) but have little to no connection with the main event. The stories here can be read in any order and do not have to be read in the order prescribed here, as long as readers are aware these issues happen in between issues #2 and #3 of Convergence.
