Green Lantern: Lights Out Reading Order

Overview

Green Lantern: Lights Out is a DC Comics crossover event that has the DC Universe's various Lantern Corps dealing with the return of the incredibly powerful and ancient being. Their fight against this being raises concerns about the current state of all Lantern Corps and reveals hidden secrets about the DC Universe.

Lights Out plays out across one issue from each of the four Lantern-focused DC Comics series from this era before concluding in an Annual. It starts in an issue of Green Lantern, moves on to an issue of Green Lantern Corps, moves on to an issue of Green Lantern: New Guardians, moves on to an issue of Red Lanterns, and then finally concludes in a Green Lantern Annual issue. In addition, the special Green Lantern #24.1 issue gives some critical background information about the event's main villain and serves as a prelude for the main event.

Before Reading

The main storyline in Green Lantern: Lights Out heavily derives itself from the events of Green Lantern: New Guardians #21-23, which are the Green Lantern: New Guardians issues immediately after the Green Lantern: Wrath of the First Lantern (Reading Order) event. These issues set up the entire event and will be very helpful for anyone trying to get a full picture of what is happening here.

After Reading

The fallout from Green Lantern: Lights Out is felt in each of the comics that comprise it. These storylines are picked back up again in issue #25 from each series, collected in Green Lantern: Dark Days (Review), Green Lantern Corps: Rebuild (Review), Green Lantern: New Guardians: Gods and Monsters (Review), and Red Lanterns: Blood Brothers (Review).

In addition, some plot threads are continued in the Green Lantern/New Gods: Godhead (Reading Order) event.
