Overview

Trinity War (Review) is a climactic crossover event that brings together three separate Justice Leagues. These Leagues set out to discover the secrets behind Pandora (Reading Order) and uncover a conspiracy that has been present since the New 52 era began.

Trinity War is structured through crossovers that take place across the Justice League (Reading Order), Justice League Dark (Reading Order), and Justice League of America (Reading Order) series. It begins with an issue of Justice League, continues in an issue of Justice League of America, then an issue of Justice League Dark, and then repeats through each of those series one more time. These issues should all be read in the order detailed above in order for the story to make sense.

***Between these core issues are a number of tie-in issues. These tie-in issues provide additional information concerning the story as a whole and occasionally explain events that occur outside of the main storyline. All tie-in issues are marked with a *.

Before Reading

This crossover event mostly stems from the Justice League and Justice League of America series (despite being a part of this crossover, the Justice League Dark series does not do much to set it up). Specifically, a good deal of setup for this event is done at the beginning of the Justice League: The Grid (Review) and Justice League of America: World’s Most Dangerous (Review).

Trinity War was also teased back at the conclusion of Flashpoint (Review). However, this tease is not necessary in understanding the event as a whole.

After Reading

This event directly leads into Forever Evil (Reading Order) event. In this way, its repercussions are also felt in Justice League: Forever Heroes (Review) and Justice League of America: Survivors of Evil (Review).
