Firestorm Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give a timeline of major storylines featuring Firestorm throughout DC Comics. It does not encompass every one of his appearances, but is a timeline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

See our “Firestorm Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

New 52

With the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe’s continuity was restarted. Firestorm was quickly reintroduced in the Fury of Firestorm series, where he was given a brand new origin. After that series was cancelled, Firestorm went on to play a supporting role in Justice League and a starring role in Legends of Tomorrow.

See our “Firestorm Timeline” for summaries of each story arc in this reading order.

Notes
  1. Firestorm's role here is very small. However, it establishes a history between him and the Justice League that will become important in later stories.
  2. Firestorm appears in all of the core issues of Trinity War (Review) (Reading Order) but none of the tie-in issues.
  3. Firestorm is a relatively minor character in this storyline. However, the storyline, as a whole, helps explain how he survives his fate at the end of Trinity War (Review) (Reading Order).
  4. Only the "Firestorm" stories from Legends of Tomorrow are relevant here.
