Harley Quinn Solo Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring Harley Quinn solo adventures throughout DC Comics. It may not encompass every one of her appearances, but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

New 52

With the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe’s continuity was reset. Harley Quinn’s criminal history and her relationship with the Joker are clearly maintained. However, the exact details behind these elements of her history are altered as they are reintroduced to this new universe.

In this era, Harley Quinn stars in her own solo series, Harley Quinn, which takes place at an undetermined time in the DC Universe’s near-future. Her adventures in this series mostly take place in the series itself but, occasionally, extend into a spin-off miniseries.

Readers should also be aware that this reading order only really covers half of Harley Quinn’s appearances from this era. Since her solo series appears to exist in its own continuity/timeline, all of her appearances in the main DC continuity  can be found in ComicBookWire’s “Harley Quinn Reading Order“. For more information on this split, see our “Harley Quinn Reading Order Homepage“.

Harley Quinn issues are from the Vol. 2 series.

Notes
  1. This issue takes place in an alternate future as part of the Futures End (Reading Order) event. It can be skipped if necessary, however it does thematically relate to many of these other Harley Quinn issues.

Rebirth

The Rebirth era introduced little to no continuity changes for Harley Quinn's solo narrative. It simply continues the story from the conclusion of the New 52 era.

Once again, this era mostly sees Harley's adventures take place within the Harley Quinn series. The only exception to this is a special anniversary issue.

Readers should also be aware that this reading order only really covers half of Harley Quinn's appearances from this era. Since her solo series appears to exist in its own continuity/timeline, all of her appearances in the main DC continuity  can be found in ComicBookWire's "Harley Quinn Reading Order". Harley Quinn issues are from the Vol. 3 series.

Notes
  1. These issues are structured in this way because Harley Quinn #10 is a special holiday issue that interrupts the narrative extending from Harley Quinn #9 to #11. Moving #10 helps preserve this narrative without mixing things up too much.
  2. Only the main story from Harley Quinn #14-27 are necessary at this point.
  3. Though this storyline is included as a backup story from issues of Harley Quinn, it has very little relevance to the narrative stretching through this series. Instead, it is a flashback to events taking place when Harley and Joker were still dating. In addition, only the backup stories from Harley Quinn #14-27 are necessary at this point.
