New 52

With the start of the New 52, the DC Universe was reset. Lara Lor-Van’s history was mostly wiped clean and was then presented with significant alterations. However, this new version of Lara is still the wife of Jor-El (Reading Order) and the mother of Kal-El (Reading Order).

In this era, Lara is initially introduced through a series of quick flashbacks to moments from Krypton’s history. These then evolve into an entire flashback storyline that is told through backup issues of Action Comics. After this, she continues to make small appearances in flashbacks to Krypton’s past.

  1. Lara's appearances in these issues are very brief. They show pieces of her past on Krypton but are not necessary in understanding Lara's full history.
  2. Only the "Superman" story from this issue is relevant to this reading order.

Rebirth

Lara's only significant appearance in the Rebirth era is a flashback to a time before Krypton's destruction. Her inclusion in this flashback is very brief but may be interesting for fans who really want to see what she was doing before Krypton was destroyed.
