New 52

At the beginning of the New 52, the DC Universe was reset. In this new continuity, Metron’s history appears to have been almost entirely wiped clean. However, his status as a collector of knowledge and occasional ally of New Genesis remains.

Metron is reintroduced about halfway through the New 52 era. Initially, he plays a small, supporting role in a couple of issues from the Green Lantern/New Gods: Godhead (Reading Order) event. However, he takes on a more prominent role near the very end of the era, where he appears in the Darkseid War (Reading Order) event. In this event, the nature of his character is explored more thoroughly and his overall narrative progresses significantly.

  2. Metron only makes a very brief appearance in this issue. However, this appearance fits into the overall Darkseid War (Reading Order) event.

Rebirth - Universe

Metron's storyline continues at the conclusion of the Universe era, an extension of the Rebirth era. Here, his storyline picks up from where it left off at the end of the Darkseid War (Reading Order) event.

Here, Metron only appears in a single issue. However, this issue spends a good deal of time reflecting on Metron's role in the universe. This issue also has him play a moderate role in a piece of the greater Dark Nights: Death Metal event.
