The Rogues Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give a timeline of major storylines featuring the Rogues throughout DC Comics. It may not encompass every one of their appearances but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

New 52

With the start of the New 52, the DC Universe was reset and the Rogues quickly became the Flash’s antagonists once more. It is established, early on, that they have faced off against the Flash a number of time in the past. However, it is unclear how much of their specific history survived the transition into the New 52 era. 

The Rogues were reintroduced through The Flash (Reading Order). As a team, they play a main role in three story arcs from this series but some members have a larger role as individuals. The team also stars in their own Forever Evil (Reading Order) tie-in miniseries.

Throughout this era, the Rogues primarily consist of Captain Cold (Reading Order), Golden Glider (Reading Order), Mirror Master (Reading Order), Weather Wizard (Reading Order), Trickster (Reading Order), and Heat Wave (Reading Order). 

Flash issues are from the Vol. 5 series.

Notes

1. These issues only feature a single member of the Rogues. However, they help set up a reveal, regarding the Rogues, that has a big impact on the series.
2. These issues focus on individual members of the Rogues. They help directly set up the first major appearance of the team.
3. This issue only has a brief appearance from the Rogues. However, it shows what they did at the conclusion of their previous arc.
