Illuminati Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring the Illuminati throughout Marvel Comics. It may not encompass every one of the team’s appearances, but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

Near the beginning of this era, the Illuminati reconvene and begin working toward a new goal. Their work here directly continues their work from previous eras.

The team’s progression in this era starts out within the New Avengers series, which primarily focused on the Illuminati’s actions. Then, it began to extend out into the Avengers series, particularly in the Infinity (Reading Order) and Time Runs Out (Reading Order) events. Finally, the team’s narrative came to a head in the Secret Wars event.

In this era, the members of the Illuminati include Black Bolt, Black Panther (T’Challa) Doctor Strange, Iron Man (Tony Stark), Mister Fantastic, and Namor.

It is also worth noting that, in this era, the Illuminati’s actions are intricately tied to the actions of the Avengers, which are seen in the Avengers series.
