References: Justice League- Throne of Atlantis (Movie)
Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (Review) is the third movie set entirely within the DC Animated Movie Universe and the third movie in the Justice League series of movies. It is a direct sequel to Justice League: War (References) and the story here mostly continues in Justice League vs. Teen Titans.
The majority of this movie is based on the Aquaman: Throne of Atlantis (Review) (Reading Order) comic book crossover event. Besides this, only small references are made to other comics.

DC Animated Movie Universe References
- The recent creation of the Justice League, Cyborg’s new powers, and Darkseid’s attack on the world are referenced a number of times. All of these events occurred in Justice League: War (References).
Comic Book References
- This entire film is based on the main stories from Justice League Vol. 2 #15-17 and Aquaman Vol. 7 #14-17 all of which are collected in Aquaman: Throne of Atlantis (Review). See our “Throne of Atlantis Reading Order” for full details on exactly how these issues form this storyline.
- A man named John Henry is saved by Superman. His character has a rather large role in the comics, debuting in Adventures of Superman #500, collected in Superman: Reign of the Supermen.
- The Trench and the creatures within it were a major plot point from Aquaman Vol. 1: The Trench (Review).
- Aquaman’s mom’s death happens differently in the comics. The mystery surrounding her death is explored across Aquaman Vol. 6: Maelstrom (Review).
