Titans Reading Order

This reading order is designed to give an outline of major storylines featuring the Titans team throughout DC Comics. Though the Titans are closely related to the Teen Titans (Reading Order), the Titans are a team of older heroes who are, typically, former Teen Titans. This reading order may not encompass every one of their appearances but is an outline of the major ones and the stories that affect them.

The continuity details relating to each specific storyline are explained in the “Review” of each storyline. Every “Review” link will provide a detailed continuity breakdown of that story and will explain any reference the story makes to other aspects of the DC Universe. All of this can be found under the “Continuity” section of each link.

Jump to: New 52 – Rebirth

New 52

With the start of the New 52, the DC Universe was reset. In this newly established universe, the Titans did not exist and a new group of Teen Titans (Reading Order) was only just forming. However, elements of the pre-Flashpoint Titans history were reincorporated into this universe through the Titans Hunt miniseries.

The Titans Hunt miniseries contains the Titans’ only appearance in this era. It helps reestablish the team, explains their recent absence, and directly sets up the Titan’s appearances in the Rebirth era.

Members of the team from this era include: Arsenal (Reading Order), Donna Troy (Reading Order), Dove (Reading Order), Gnarrk, Hawk (Reading Order), Karen Duncan, Malcolm Duncan, Nightwing (Reading Order), Omen (Reading Order), and Tempest (Reading Order).

Rebirth

The Rebirth era directly continues the narrative from the Titans Hunt series in the New 52 era.

The Titans' adventures in this era primarily take place through the Titans series. This series takes the team into the Lazarus Contract (Reading Order) crossover event, which puts them into contact with Deathstroke (Reading Order) and the Teen Titans (Reading Order).

Members of the team from this era include: Arsenal (Reading Order), Donna Troy (Reading Order), Karen Duncan, Nightwing (Reading Order), Omen (Reading Order), Tempest (Reading Order), and Wally West (Reading Order).

Titans issues are from the Vol. 3 series.
Teen Titans issues are from the Vol. 6 series.
Deathstroke issues are from the Vol. 3 series.

Notes

1. This issue only follows one member of the Titans. However, this member's return is a major plot point in the first story arc of the Titans series and may help readers in understanding what is going on in that comic.
2. Only the "What a Year for a New Year" story from DC Rebirth Holiday Special #1 is relevant to this reading order.
